Prop firm evaluations in 2026: prices and rules
Key findings
In late September and early October 2026 the typical $50K futures evaluation required a 6% profit before a 4% trailing loss. One-time plans had a median list price of $186, and monthly plans $162 a month. A simple model says a trader with no edge passes about 22% of the time; three firms publish pass rates of 16.8% to 19.97%.
What we collected
On 27 September 2026 we read the pricing pages, rule pages and help centres of 12 funded-trader firms: Alpha Futures, Apex Trader Funding, Breakout, FTMO, FundedNext, FundingPips, Lucid Trading, MyFundedFutures, Take Profit Trader, The5ers, Topstep and Tradeify. MyFundedFutures' site also points to challenges from MyFunded Perpetuals, which it says is a separate company. On 1 October 2026 we read the pages of 20 more firms the same way: Bitfunded, Blue Guardian, Bulenox, Crypto Fund Trader, E8 Markets, Earn2Trade, Elite Trader Funding, Funded Futures Network, Funded Trading Plus, FunderPro, FXIFY, Goat Funded Trader, HyroTrader, Instant Funding, Leeloo Trading, Maven Trading, Phidias Propfirm, Top One Futures, TradeDay and Velotrade. That puts 33 firms in the table.
Each row is one plan at one account size. Where a firm sells a plan in several versions, for example with or without a daily loss limit, each version gets its own row. Every row links to the firm's page we took the price from and carries the date we checked it.
The table has 953 rows: 370 futures plans, 395 forex and CFD plans, 178 crypto plans and 10 plans on prediction markets. On the day we checked, 881 were on sale. The rest are limited-time offers, plans sold by invitation, products a firm no longer sells or hasn't started selling, funded stages that can't be bought, and sizes a firm lists without selling.
All prices are list prices, the price a firm shows before any coupon code. Codes on the firms' pages took 10% to 90% off, and they come and go too quickly to compare. Where one of the first 12 firms showed a sale price that needed no code, we recorded the price shown. For the firms added in October we recorded the price before any sale, with or without a code.
FTMO prices its CFD challenges in euros and Instant Funding sells some accounts in South African rand. Those rows are marked EUR or ZAR, and a rand account's size goes in the variant column. Lucid Trading showed its reset prices only with a coupon applied, so Lucid's resets are blank. Funded Trading Plus blocked our requests on 1 October 2026, so most of its prices come from Internet Archive copies of its pages from July and September 2026, and those rows link to the copies.
On 30 September 2026 we checked the $50K list prices at Alpha Futures, FTMO, FundedNext, MyFundedFutures, Topstep and Tradeify again. They matched, except for MyFundedFutures' Pro plan, whose page showed $227 while its checkout data still listed $265; we kept $265. The 18 rows that matched carry the later date.
The $50K futures evaluation
Of the 33 firms, 23 sell US futures evaluations, and all 23 offer a $50K account, so we compare plans at that size. There are 78 of them once we leave out 11 plans that start funded with no evaluation, such as Alpha Futures Direct, Bulenox Fast Track and Tradeify Lightning Funded; limited-time plans at Apex and Leeloo Trading; Leeloo's bundle of three accounts sold for one price; and Take Profit Trader's two funded stages, which aren't sold.
| Rule | What the 78 plans set |
|---|---|
| Profit target | 6% ($3,000) on 68 plans. Six ask for 8% (Alpha Futures Advanced, Elite Trader Funding Static, and both versions of Phidias Propfirm's Fundamental and Premium), FXIFY Futures Expert asks for 7%, and three ask for 5% (FundedNext Futures Flex and both versions of Phidias' Express to Live). |
| Maximum loss | 4% ($2,000) on 61 plans. Eight allow 5% (Bulenox Qualification, FXIFY Futures Expert, Leeloo Trading Foundation, and Phidias' Fundamental and Premium). The rest run from 1.3% on Phidias' Express to Live to 6% on FTMO Futures Pro. |
| How the loss limit moves | It trails the account's high on 75: at the end of the day on 66, and intraday on 9 (Apex's two Intraday Trail plans, LucidDaily's two intraday options, the trailing-drawdown versions of Bulenox's two plans, Elite Trader Funding 1-Step, Leeloo Trading Foundation and TradeDay Quick Pay's intraday option). A static limit applies on 3: Elite Trader Funding's Static plan and both versions of Phidias' Express to Live. |
| Minimum trading days | 35 plans set no minimum and 13 set one day. Two to five days are needed on 20, and 10 on Leeloo Trading Foundation. Funded Futures Network counts only winning days of at least $150 at this size. We found no stated minimum for Blue Guardian's Reserve and Express options, FundedNext Futures Flex and Legacy, and Goat Funded Trader Daily Payouts. |
| Consistency rule | 47 plans cap the share of profit that one day can make up during the evaluation, at a median of 40% (from 30% to 55%). 23 apply a cap only when you ask for a payout, 6 have none (Elite Trader Funding's three plans, FundedNext Futures Rapid Daily and Phidias' Express to Live), and Bulenox doesn't say for its Qualification plan. |
| Profit split | 90% on 42 plans, 80% on 24, 100% on 7 (Apex's four and Elite Trader Funding's three), 75% on 2 (Phidias Premium), 50% on 2 (TradeDay Quick Pay, which pays 80% on profit above $4,000) and 95% on 1 (FundedNext Futures Flex). |
| Funded account | The firm says it is simulated on 69 plans. LucidMaxx, sold by invitation only, moves traders who pass to live capital. Bulenox and The5ers don't say for these plans, and Earn2Trade's funded account can be simulated or live. |
A trailing limit follows the account's high up and never comes back down, so profit that is given back eats into the room left. Our page on how a trailing drawdown works walks through a $50K example.
What evaluations cost
Of the 78 plans at $50K, 50 charge once and 28 bill monthly.
| Fee | Plans | Median | Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| One-time fee, list price | 50 | $186 | $100 to $1,190 |
| Monthly subscription, list price | 28 | $162 a month | $49 to $497 a month |
| Activation fee, where charged | 21 | Not calculated | $59 to $250 |
| Reset, where a price is listed | 50 | $99.50 | $35 to $265 |
Monthly billing covers some or all of these plans at 13 firms: Alpha Futures, Earn2Trade, Elite Trader Funding, FTMO, FXIFY, Funded Futures Network, FunderPro, Leeloo Trading, Phidias Propfirm, Take Profit Trader, Top One Futures, Topstep and TradeDay. The fee recurs until you pass or cancel. Both counts are even, so each median is the average of the two middle prices: $180 and $192 for one-time plans, $160 and $164 for monthly ones.
Activation fees, charged when you pass, apply to 21 plans and run from $59 on Apex's Intraday Trail plan to $250 on Leeloo Trading's Foundation plan; 17 of them fall between $119 and $189. Earn2Trade takes its $139 out of the first withdrawal, and only on its simulated LiveSim account. Topstep, Apex and Phidias also sell versions without the fee at a higher price.
A reset restarts a failed evaluation without buying a new one. The cheapest listed is $35 for Top One Futures' Elite Access, and the most expensive is $265 for MyFundedFutures Pro, where a reset costs the full list price. Apex and E8 Markets sell no resets (E8 offers 10% off a fresh attempt instead), Phidias sells none on Express to Live, and The5ers and Bulenox's Momentum plan list none. Lucid, and Phidias on its one-time-payment plans, showed reset prices only with a coupon applied, and Blue Guardian prices its Reserve resets as a discount on what you paid. Our page on what a prop firm evaluation costs lists each $50K plan's price.
How often luck would pass
The model treats a trader with no edge as a random walk: each small move is as likely to be up as down, measured as a share of the starting balance. The evaluation ends when the account is up 6% (a pass) or has fallen 4% below its highest point so far (a fail).
Each new high starts a fresh race between climbing a little further and dropping 4% from the peak. The chance of winning one race of size x is about 1 − x/4, and the walk has to win enough of them in a row to cover 6%. Multiplied out, the chance of passing is e−6/4 = e−1.5, about 22.3%. A simulation of 200,000 such walks gave 22.1%. Against a fixed floor 4% below the start, the same walk would pass 40% of the time, so trailing cuts the luck pass rate almost in half.
22%
pass chance. With no edge, about 22 traders in 100 pass on luck alone.
Pass rates published by Topstep, Tradeify and MyFundedFutures
A model, not a forecast: daily moves are random with the drift your edge implies, the limit trails continuously, and there are no fees, daily loss limits or consistency rules. A Sharpe ratio of 1 is a good, steady strategy; 3 is exceptional.
Three firms publish pass rates a little under the model's 22%: Topstep 16.8%, Tradeify 17.2%, MyFundedFutures 19.97%. Take Profit Trader (36.22%) and Earn2Trade (8.89%) also publish rates, counted on different bases. Our page on prop firm pass rates sets out what each figure counts.
This is an estimate from a simple model, and it leaves a good deal out:
- Commissions and slippage take a little from every trade, which pulls the pass rate down.
- Daily loss limits, consistency rules and minimum days can fail or slow an account the model would pass.
- At most firms the limit stops trailing once it reaches the starting balance. A limit that locks there lifts the model's pass rate to about 24.5%.
- Most plans move the limit only on closing balances, which is kinder to the trader than the continuous trailing the model assumes.
- Some traders do have an edge, which lifts their odds above the model's.
- Topstep's and Tradeify's rates count every evaluation started, so a trader who tries three times counts three times.
The model can't tell whether a given trader has an edge. It does suggest that the published pass rates sit close to what these rules would produce if no one had one, so a single pass says little about skill.
