Earn2Trade vs ROMER

Short answer

Earn2Trade suits futures day traders who want a monthly evaluation and the option of a live CME account soon after passing, issued through partner prop firms. It has no written bot policy, bans trade copiers and lists ultra-fast trading as prohibited conduct. ROMER is built for automated and high-frequency strategies, which run on our hardware at the exchange.

What Earn2Trade sells

Earn2Trade describes itself as an educational company. It runs the evaluations, and the funded accounts come from partner prop firms, which it names as Helios Trading Partners, Appius Trading Limited and Kronos (which firm will contact me). Both evaluations are subscriptions that renew each month until you pass or cancel. The Trader Career Path costs $190 a month at 50K and comes with a growth plan that can take a funded trader up to a $400K Live account. The Gauntlet Mini costs $170 a month at 50K and keeps the size you bought.

Either 50K evaluation asks for $3,000 of profit, with a $2,000 end-of-day trailing drawdown and a $1,100 daily loss limit. That limit counts open trades. Earn2Trade’s 25K example puts it plainly: “if your PnL ever hits the -$550 limit (even if you don’t close your position), your evaluation fails” (daily loss). A consistency rule adds that “no single trading day can account for 30% or more of your total PnL.” There’s no minimum length, but “due to the 30% consistency rule, a trader will need at least four profitable trading days to complete an evaluation” (evaluation rules). Every position and working order has to be closed by 3:50 PM CT, and trading through news is allowed.

Earn2Trade publishes its own pass rate: 8.89% of candidates in 2025, counted by subscription, which our page on prop firm pass rates sets beside other firms’ figures. One price detail doesn’t line up. Its price list gives the subscription fees as “$150, $170, $190, $315, $350 or $550”, which leaves out the $375 a month the site charges for the 150K Gauntlet Mini.

What the rules say about software and speed

We found no rule on bots, algorithms or expert advisors in Earn2Trade’s help centre, product pages or terms. The closest is its list of prohibited conduct, which bans “Utilizing software, artificial intelligence, or ultra-fast data entry techniques that could potentially manipulate the trading environment or provide an unfair advantage”. The same list bans “Executing an unrealistic number of contracts in a single day”. Penalties range from a warning or the deletion of that day’s data up to a reset or permanent closure. The terms mention bots only in a clause about using them “to automatically access or manipulate the Service”.

High-frequency trading never appears by name, but “ultra-fast data entry techniques” and an “unrealistic number of contracts” describe most of it. A slow, rules-based bot is harder to place. Nothing permits it, and nothing names it, so the safe course is to ask before you switch it on.

Trade copiers get a clear answer: “The use of trade copiers is not allowed on any of our programs” (copy trading). The ban carries on after funding, because “All trading must be your own, so that your progress and performance truly reflect your skills.” The terms describe a milder outcome for anyone caught: “If you pass the exam and are found to have used trade copiers to pass your accounts, you will receive only one account (LiveSim® or Live Account).” Our copy trading comparison sets out other firms’ rules.

None of Earn2Trade’s 87 help articles, its product pages or its terms mention a VPS. You trade through Rithmic, Tradovate (NinjaTrader connects through Tradovate) or BlackArrow (platforms), and no rule covers connecting your own code to an API.

LiveSim or a Live account

After you pass, you trade one of two kinds of account. Earn2Trade describes LiveSim as “a simulated trading account where traders can continue to hone their skills in a simulated environment, while having the benefit of being able to withdraw their profit.” Live accounts “are funded brokerage accounts trading on the CME through the funding firm’s FCM accounts” (account differences), at brokers that include EdgeClear, Dorman Trading and NinjaTrader.

The home page says “You may transition directly to a live account after passing the evaluation”, and the LiveSim page calls LiveSim “an optional intermediary step”. Most traders still end up on it. Earn2Trade’s own disclosure says that of candidates who passed or progressed, “5.23% traded a Live account, and 94.77% traded a LiveSim® account.” So at Earn2Trade the step to live funding can come straight after the evaluation, though few traders end up there.

The two accounts cost different amounts to hold (fee structure). LiveSim charges non-professionals a one-time $139 for CME data, deducted from the first profitable withdrawal. On a Live account you pay $140 a month per exchange for Rithmic data, or $156 through NinjaTrader, plus the FCM’s commissions and exchange fees. You can hold three funded accounts at once, and only one of them can be Live.

Funded accounts drop the consistency rule but keep a daily loss limit and the 3:50 PM CT close. The split depends on each withdrawal. On a 50K account you keep 50% of a withdrawal below $2,250 and 80% of one at or above it, and Earn2Trade stresses that the split “is not based on accumulated profit, it is based on the single withdrawal size” (withdrawal policy). Withdrawals start at $100 and are processed on Wednesdays.

Where ROMER fits

ROMER, our program, is for traders who automate, and its rules put that in writing. Bots, algos and HFT may trade from the first simulated session through to funded trading on real capital. What they may not do is manipulate the market: spoofing is banned, and every algo is held to the exchange’s message limits. Discretionary traders can join as well. Algos run in the exchange’s own data centre, on our hardware.

Earn2Trade has one evaluation, and ours has two, both in simulation. The first runs for a minimum of 3 trading days, and the algo has to make the profit target without breaking a loss limit. The second, Verification, gives it at least 10 more trading days, all new, and it has to pass again, which shows us whether the first result survives fresh market conditions. The strongest algos after that are funded with our capital on the real exchange, and 80% of what they earn there goes to the trader who built them. Clearing both stages makes an algo a candidate, and funding still isn’t guaranteed. Earn2Trade can move a trader to a live CME account sooner, straight after one evaluation.

Planned prices, which may change, are $149 (Starter, $25K), $249 (Pro, $50K) and $399 (Elite, $100K) a month, and there’s no activation fee. Each plan targets 6% profit, with a 4% trailing maximum loss and a 2% daily loss limit. On $50K that is a $3,000 target and a $2,000 drawdown, matching Earn2Trade’s 50K, and a daily limit of $1,000 against its $1,100. Earn2Trade’s 50K evaluations cost less a month than our Pro plan, and each month’s fee at ROMER covers running the algo on our hardware at the exchange. Our 80% share of real profits doesn’t change with the size of a withdrawal.

Which trader each suits

Earn2Trade suits discretionary futures day traders who are flat by 3:50 PM CT, don’t need a trade copier and want the option of a live CME account early, or a growth plan towards $400K on the Trader Career Path. It’s a harder fit for any kind of automation, given the copier ban and the lack of a written bot policy.

ROMER suits strategies that are automated end to end, including high-frequency ones, and traders who want their algo’s permission written into the rules before they pay.

Quick answers

Can I use a trading bot at Earn2Trade?

Earn2Trade has no rule that names bots. Its prohibited conduct list bans "Utilizing software, artificial intelligence, or ultra-fast data entry techniques that could potentially manipulate the trading environment or provide an unfair advantage", and trade copiers are banned on every program. Ask its support team before you run any automation.

Is Earn2Trade's LiveSim account real money?

No. Earn2Trade calls LiveSim "a simulated trading account" from which you can withdraw profit. A Live account is a real brokerage account trading on the CME through the partner firm's FCM. Of the 2025 candidates who passed or progressed, 5.23% traded a Live account and 94.77% LiveSim.

How does Earn2Trade's profit split work?

It depends on the size of each withdrawal. On a 50K account you keep 50% of a withdrawal below $2,250 and 80% of one at or above it. Earn2Trade says the split "is not based on accumulated profit, it is based on the single withdrawal size."

Does Earn2Trade have a daily loss limit?

Yes, $1,100 on a 50K account, and it counts open positions. Touching it fails the evaluation even if you haven't closed the trade. Funded accounts keep a daily loss limit too, although the 30% consistency rule no longer applies once you are funded.
