FundedNext vs ROMER
Short answer
FundedNext Futures suits traders who want a one-time fee: it allows bots and a VPS, charges no activation fee, and pays up to 95% of simulated profit, but bans HFT. ROMER suits algo and HFT traders. It runs algos inside the exchange's data centre, and traders keep 80% of real profits.
At a glance
ROMER’s terms are planned and may change. FundedNext’s details are from its own pages, checked on the date above; see the sources below.
How FundedNext Futures works
FundedNext runs two programs. The CFD side covers currencies, commodities and indices on MetaTrader 4 and 5, cTrader and Match-Trader. FundedNext Futures trades exchange-listed contracts “on CME, NYMEX, COMEX & more” on Tradovate, NinjaTrader or TradingView. ROMER is built for futures and digital-asset derivatives, so we compare the futures program and note where CFD rules differ.
You pay for a Challenge once, with no monthly subscription, and moving to a funded account “involves no additional cost”, according to FundedNext’s fee FAQ. Rapid Pro is the closest of its four rule sets to a standard 50K evaluation: a $3,000 target, a $2,000 maximum loss that trails your end-of-day balance, no daily loss limit unless you add one, and a target you can reach in a single day. On 30 September 2026 the futures page listed the 50K Rapid Pro at $299.98. Flex costs less, at $133.99 for 50K, with a $2,500 target and a 95% reward share.
The funded account is simulated. FundedNext says “The Challenge Accounts and FundedNext Accounts operate in a simulated market.” Payouts, which it calls Performance Rewards, are real money. On a 50K Rapid Pro account you can withdraw every 3 days once you have made $500 in the cycle and your best day is no more than 40% of your total profit. Each withdrawal is capped at $1,200, you keep 90%, and the account closes after five rewards (eligibility rules).
Under the Road to Live rules, 15 Performance Rewards put you in a review pool for live capital, and “Meeting the threshold does not guarantee a transition.” A trader who is picked gets up to five live accounts, starting with $2,000 per 50K account, and keeps 100% of the first $5,000 withdrawn, then 90%.
On payout speed, its reward page promises that “If we don’t disburse your reward within 24 hours, FundedNext will add an additional $1,000 on top of your original reward.” In August 2026 the firm said its payouts across CFDs and futures had passed $350 million, a figure it reports itself (Finance Magnates).
Bots, HFT and servers at FundedNext
On futures, the bot rules permit “automated trading systems such as Expert Advisors (EAs) and trading bots during both the Challenge and on FundedNext Accounts”, with no setup help. Strategies that exploit “system vulnerabilities” are banned, and its examples are “latency abuse or order flooding”.
HFT is banned outright. “FundedNext Futures does not allow High-Frequency Trading,” its HFT article begins. If a bot is found “executing trades at a frequency and speed consistent with High-Frequency Trading”, the account “will be subject to review and enforcement action.” FundedNext publishes no trade count or holding time for it.
Part of the reason is the simulator. FundedNext Futures “operates on simulated execution using live exchange market data”, its prohibited strategies page explains, and simulated fills can occur at prices, sizes or speeds “that would not have been achievable in the live exchange order book due to factors such as market depth, queue priority, and available liquidity.” That sim-fill problem is behind most firms’ HFT rules.
Your algo runs on your own computer or a rented server. On futures a trader “may use a VPS (Virtual Private Server)” in both the Challenge and the funded account (VPS FAQ).
CFD accounts are stricter. EAs run only on MT4 and MT5, on accounts under $50,000, for an extra usage fee, and “Traders on accounts of $50,000 and above must trade fully manually” (EA rules). A VPS has the same size limit and fee, and may only run an EA that opens and closes trades (VPS rules). HFT is banned on CFDs too.
How ROMER differs
ROMER is our funded-trader program for algorithmic and high-frequency traders. Every ROMER term here is planned and may change.
Bots, algos and HFT are allowed at every stage. We don’t allow spoofing or other manipulative trading, we monitor every order, and the exchange’s message limits apply. Your algo runs on our hardware inside the exchange’s data centre (colocation), so you won’t need a VPS. Our latency design target is under 1 microsecond, against roughly 30 milliseconds for a home connection to a simulator; both figures are illustrative.
Stage 1 is a simulated evaluation of at least 3 trading days, so you can’t pass in a day as you can on Rapid Pro. Stage 2, Verification, asks your algo to pass again over at least 10 more trading days, with fills still simulated. It’s there to catch a Stage 1 pass that came from luck. The best algos then trade our own capital on the real exchange, and the trader, an independent contractor, keeps 80% of real profits. Funding isn’t guaranteed.
Planned pricing is monthly: Starter ($25K) at $149, Pro ($50K) at $249 and Elite ($100K) at $399, with no activation fee, a 6% profit target, a 4% trailing maximum loss and a 2% daily loss limit. The fee covers running your algo on our hardware at the exchange. Our 80% is less than FundedNext’s 90% or 95%. ROMER’s share is of real market profit, where FundedNext’s is of simulated profit until a trader moves to live.
Which one suits you
FundedNext Futures suits a trader who wants a one-time fee and frequent payouts. If you trade by hand, or run a bot that holds positions longer than a few seconds, you can pick a rule set, run it from a VPS and draw payouts every few days. MetaTrader users on smaller CFD accounts can run EAs too.
ROMER is for what FundedNext’s rules exclude, HFT and algos whose edge depends on speed, and for traders who want an algo to pass on two separate sets of trading days before real capital is at stake.
Quick answers
Does FundedNext allow bots?
On FundedNext Futures, yes. EAs and trading bots are allowed in the Challenge and the FundedNext Account, though FundedNext doesn't help set them up. On CFD accounts, EAs are allowed only on MT4 and MT5, on accounts under $50,000, for an extra usage fee.
Does FundedNext allow HFT?
No. FundedNext bans HFT on futures and CFD accounts. It monitors automated systems, and an account trading "at a frequency and speed consistent with High-Frequency Trading" is reviewed and may be terminated.
Is the FundedNext funded account real money?
The account is simulated, and the Performance Rewards you withdraw are real money. After 15 Performance Rewards you enter a review pool for live accounts, and FundedNext says meeting that threshold "does not guarantee a transition".
Can I use a VPS with FundedNext?
On FundedNext Futures, yes, in both the Challenge and the FundedNext Account. On CFD accounts a VPS is allowed only below $50,000, for a fee, and only with an EA that opens and closes trades.
How does ROMER's price compare with FundedNext's?
FundedNext charges once: on 30 September 2026 a 50K Rapid Pro Challenge was listed at $299.98. ROMER's planned price is $249 a month for $50K, with no activation fee, and the fee covers running your algo on our hardware inside the exchange's data centre.
