Bitfunded vs ROMER
Short answer
Bitfunded suits crypto traders who place every order by hand, prefer low leverage and want payouts in USDT. It bans bots, scripts and API automation, only counts trades held at least 10 minutes, and runs every account in simulation. ROMER suits automated and high-frequency strategies in digital-asset derivatives and futures, with real capital for the best algos.

ROMER’s terms are planned and may change. Bitfunded’s details are from its own pages, checked on the date above; see the sources below.
A crypto prop firm on its own platform
Bitfunded runs its challenges on software it wrote, described in its FAQ as “a trading platform we built and run ourselves”. You get more than 100 crypto pairs and over 20 TradFi pairs such as gold, silver and Tesla, at leverage from 1x to 5x, and you pay a trading fee of 0.04% of position size to open and the same to close.
On 1 October 2026 the home page listed the $50K 2-Step at $399. It asks for 8% and then 5%, with a 5% daily loss limit and a maximum loss that is “a fixed percentage of your starting balance and it doesn’t move for the life of the challenge”: 10% in Stage 1 and 8% after that. At $50K the 1-Step costs $499 (10% target, 4% daily, 6% maximum) and the 1-Step Express $199 (9% target, 3% daily, 3% maximum). Instant Funding skips the evaluation, with a $10K account at $449 and a 60% split. There’s no time limit and no reset; if you fail, “To keep trading, you buy a new challenge.”
Several limits come from the restricted practices page. You can hold at most 5 positions at once and must keep combined margin under 65% of what’s available. Positions have to close within 10 days on major crypto, 7 on minor crypto and 5 on traditional pairs.
Funded traders keep 80% and are paid in USDT within 24 hours on working days, minus a network fee of 1 to 5 USDT depending on the chain (withdrawals). Payouts land on a Profit Sharing Day, 30 days after your first funded trade by default, and you can move it as early as 2 days or as late as 60.
Every order placed by hand
Bitfunded’s automation rule is short: “Bots, Expert Advisors, scripts, API automation: Not allowed. Every trade has to be placed manually by the account holder.” There’s no API to connect to anyway. HFT isn’t named separately, since no automation is allowed at all, but the terms of use also bar “Exploiting pricing or platform errors or latency from the platforms”.
Speed is limited in another way too. “Each qualifying trade must remain open for at least 10 minutes and reflect genuine trading activity”, and every payout period needs at least 2 closed trades that qualify (3 on Instant Funding). Quick in-and-out trading by hand won’t count toward those.
Copying is banned outright: “Copy or mirrored trading between accounts: Not allowed.” So is any coordinated trading across accounts, along with third-party strategies marketed to pass challenges. On servers, the FAQ only addresses VPNs: “VPNs: Allowed, but discouraged. They can make your activity look connected to another user, which triggers an account integrity review.” We found no VPS rule.
Simulated, though the terms say “live trading”
The FAQ answers the question directly: “No. Everything happens in a simulated environment on live market data from partner exchanges. You never deposit trading capital and you can’t lose more than the entry fee you paid. The profit share we pay out is real USDT.” The home page says “Bitfunded is fully simulated environment”.
The terms of use describe the funded trader differently: “As a CPTC Trader, individuals are entrusted with a crypto-funded CPTC Account to engage in live trading.” That isn’t the only place the terms and the FAQ disagree.
- The terms list “Minimum Trading Days: 5”. The FAQ says “None of them has a time limit or a minimum number of trading days.”
- The terms say traders may keep “up to NINETY PERCENT (90%)” of profits. The FAQ says 80%, and 60% on Instant Funding.
- The refund policy refunds the 2-Step fee to users who “reach their first profit split day”. The FAQ says the fee “comes back with your third successful payout”.
The terms carry what looks like older wording, and the FAQ matches the help centre. Ask Bitfunded which applies before you rely on either.
ROMER, for the trader Bitfunded turns away
Bitfunded wants a person behind every order. ROMER, our funded-trader program, was built for traders whose orders come from code: bots, algos and high-frequency strategies are allowed through evaluation, verification and funding alike. If you’d still rather trade by hand, you can, though your clicks travel from your own computer while the algos sit next to the exchange. We do forbid spoofing and other manipulative trading, and algos have to stay within the exchange’s message limits.
The algo runs on our hardware inside the exchange’s data centre, and it has to pass two simulated stages. In the Evaluation it needs to reach the profit target without breaking a loss limit, over at least 3 trading days. Verification asks it to repeat that over at least 10 new trading days, which tests whether the result holds up. Then the strongest algos trade our money on the real exchange, and you keep 80% of what they make there. Funding is never guaranteed. Our markets are digital-asset derivatives and futures.
The pricing is planned: Starter ($25K) at $149 a month, Pro ($50K) at $249 and Elite ($100K) at $399, with no activation fee. What you pay covers running the algo on our hardware at the exchange. The planned limits are a 2% daily loss and a 4% trailing maximum loss, against a 6% profit target, and the terms may change.
Who it suits
Bitfunded is a good fit for a discretionary crypto trader who holds positions for minutes to days, is comfortable at 5x leverage or less, and wants USDT payouts on a schedule they can set. The flexible Profit Sharing Day and the lack of a time limit help a patient trader.
If any part of your trading runs on code, Bitfunded has nowhere to put it. Breakout takes a similar hand-only line on its Kraken Prop accounts. ROMER is built for the automated strategy in digital-asset derivatives and futures.
Quick answers
Can I use a trading bot on Bitfunded?
No. Bitfunded's FAQ says "Bots, Expert Advisors, scripts, API automation: Not allowed. Every trade has to be placed manually by the account holder." Trading happens on its own web and mobile platform, which has no API for traders.
Is Bitfunded real money?
No. Its FAQ says "Everything happens in a simulated environment on live market data from partner exchanges." Profit shares are paid in real USDT. Its terms of use still describe a CPTC Account used "to engage in live trading", which the FAQ and home page contradict.
What is Bitfunded's 10-minute rule?
A trade counts as a qualifying trade only if it stays open for at least 10 minutes. Each payout period needs at least 2 closed qualifying trades, or 3 on Instant Funding accounts.
