# FunderPro vs ROMER

> FunderPro suits futures and CFD traders who want a low monthly futures fee or a CFD fee credited back, and who run their own bots well below HFT speeds. Its help centre permits high-frequency styles but its terms prohibit HFT, and traders never reach the live market. ROMER allows HFT at every stage and runs algos at the exchange.

## FunderPro's futures and CFD programs

FunderPro sells two programs from two websites, and each has its own help centre and its own terms and conditions. We read both on 1 October 2026.

[FunderPro Futures](https://funderprofutures.com/) covers contracts on CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX and EUREX. You trade on its WebTrader, DeepCharts, DeepMap or Quantower, or on ATAS if you bring your own licence ([platforms](https://support.funderprofutures.com/en/articles/378473-which-trading-platforms-can-i-trade-on)). Since 15 June 2026 it has sold three challenges. At 50K each has a $3,000 target and a $2,000 drawdown that trails the end-of-day balance until it reaches the starting balance.

- Beginner costs $79 a month. Its [help article](https://support.funderprofutures.com/en/articles/709491-everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-beginner-challenge) sums it up as "No activation fee, a flat 80% reward share from day one, and no deadline to pass."
- Mid-Level costs $89 a month plus a $129 activation fee, and the reward share climbs from 80% to 90% by the third payout ([Mid-Level](https://support.funderprofutures.com/en/articles/709492-everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-mid-level-challenge)).
- Professional costs $219 a month plus $119 to activate, with a "Fixed 80% reward share, up to $10,000 per request every 14 days" ([Professional](https://support.funderprofutures.com/en/articles/726460-everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-professional-challenge)).

The futures pages disagree on overnight positions. "No, you cannot hold trades overnight or over the weekend," says one [help article](https://support.funderprofutures.com/en/articles/378527-can-i-hold-trades-overnight), while [Trading Rules at a Glance](https://support.funderprofutures.com/en/articles/709496-funderpro-futures-trading-rules-at-a-glance) lists "Overnight Holding: Allowed (positions flatten at EOD Friday)".

The CFD program at [funderpro.com](https://funderpro.com/) runs on MT5, cTrader and TradeLocker. Its One Phase and Classic two-phase challenges each cost $319 for 50K, and the fee is [credited back](https://support.funderpro.com/en/articles/377983-will-my-challenge-fee-be-credited-back) when you claim your first reward. The Pro two-phase challenge costs $419 for 50K, pays 60% with daily rewards or 90% with weekly rewards, and doesn't credit the fee back. On One Phase and Classic the standard share is 80%, or 90% with a paid add-on ([after you pass](https://support.funderpro.com/en/articles/377978-what-happens-after-i-pass-my-challenge)).

## HFT: permitted in the help centre, prohibited in the terms

On futures, the [strategies and tools article](https://support.funderprofutures.com/en/articles/378635-what-strategies-and-tools-are-allowed-during-the-funderpro-futures-challenge) says "Fast, high-frequency trading styles are permitted as long as they follow standard trading rules and don't breach any platform limits or system protections." Clause 13.9 of the [futures terms](https://funderprofutures.com/terms-conditions) says the opposite: "Clients are prohibited from engaging in high-frequency trading, trading within two (2) minutes of high-impact news events (as per clause 10 above), or gap trading (taking advantage of market closures and re-openings)."

The CFD side has the same conflict, spread over three pages. The [HFT article](https://support.funderpro.com/en/articles/378003-is-hft-allowed-during-challenges) says "HFT and automated bots are allowed during the Funded Account Challenge, provided they operate fairly and within platform guidelines." The [trading rules page](https://funderpro.com/trading-rules/) lists "High-Frequency Trading (HFT): Permitted provided it does not exploit system latency or external data-feed discrepancies", and further down the same page names as a violation: "Exploit system inefficiencies by using HFT or AI bot strategies." Clause 13.9 of the [CFD terms](https://funderpro.com/terms-conditions/) reads "Clients are prohibited from engaging in high-frequency trading, or gap trading (taking advantage of market closures and re-openings)."

Both sets of terms also ban latency arbitrage and trading off slower data feeds ([latency arbitrage across firms](/help/is-latency-arbitrage-allowed)). A trader who follows the help centre could still be in breach of the terms, so if your strategy trades fast, get FunderPro's answer in writing, for your account type, before you buy. Our page on [why prop firms ban HFT](/help/why-prop-firms-ban-hft) explains the simulated-fill problem behind rules like these.

## Bots, code ownership and VPS approval

Below HFT speeds, bots are welcome on both programs. FunderPro Futures says "automated trading tools, bots, and Expert Advisors (EAs) are permitted on FunderPro Futures, as long as they do not exploit system vulnerabilities and remain compliant with our trading rules." Clause 13.11 of its terms adds: "The use of third-party EAs designed for tick scalping, rollover scalping, or high-frequency trading strategies is prohibited. Clients using third-party EAs must own the source code of the software." On CFD accounts you must own your EA, and "renting, sharing, or using them to exploit unfair advantages or violate our trading rules is not allowed" ([EA article](https://support.funderpro.com/en/articles/378021-can-i-use-eas-or-bots-while-participating-in-the-funded-account-challenge)). Both sets of terms let FunderPro warn you and suspend order processing if you send an excessive number of orders in an unreasonable timeframe.

The two programs treat servers differently. On futures, "FunderPro Futures permits the use of VPNs and VPSs to connect to your account", except from a list of restricted countries. The CFD [help centre](https://support.funderpro.com/en/articles/378005-are-vpn-and-vps-allowed) also permits them, but the [approval page](https://funderpro.com/vps-approval-request/) says "If you need to trade your FunderPro account through a VPS or a VPN, our Risk team has to approve and whitelist it first." It asks for a static IP and proof that you own the server, and warns: "Approval is not automatic. Trading through a VPS or VPN before you receive written approval may still breach your account's terms." Both sets of terms ban shared VPS or IP setups that link accounts, even accounts belonging to the same client.

## Simulated rewards and no live access

On futures, "Once you pass the Challenge, you'll receive a Funded Account, which is still in a simulated environment" ([real funds article](https://support.funderprofutures.com/en/articles/378455-do-i-trade-with-real-funds)). Rewards from it are real money. Clause 11.7 of the futures terms says "The Company may, in its sole discretion, decide to copy the simulated trades the Client makes within the FunderPro Futures Funded Phase into the live market," and that "the Client will never be provided with access to the live market through the use of the Services".

The CFD home page says "All trading activity takes place in a simulated trading environment. Funds allocated are fictitious." The [Zero Activation Fee Challenge](https://funderpro.com/post-activation-challenge-fee/), sold only in some regions, invites you to "pay your activation fee, and trade with real capital", while the same page's footer repeats that trading is simulated. A CFD funded account can grow by half after a 10% profit in each of three consecutive months, repeatable up to $5,000,000 ([scaling](https://support.funderpro.com/en/articles/409956-can-funded-traders-scale-their-accounts)).

## ROMER's planned terms

ROMER is ours: we run it, and we wrote this page. Everything in this section is planned and could change.

At ROMER, HFT is allowed at every stage. So are slower bots and algos, and trading by hand. Spoofing and any other manipulation of the market are prohibited, and the exchange's message limits apply. Algos are hosted on our hardware in the exchange's data centre ([colocation](/help/prop-firm-with-colocated-servers)), so there's no VPS to get approved.

FunderPro may copy simulated trades into the market under its own name. ROMER's final stage puts the best algos on the real exchange with our own capital, and the trader, who works as an independent contractor, takes 80% of real profits. Two simulated stages come first. The evaluation runs at least 3 trading days, with a 6% profit target, a 4% trailing maximum loss and a 2% daily loss limit. Verification then asks for a second pass over at least 10 new trading days. Funding isn't guaranteed.

At a planned $249 a month for $50K, with no activation fee, ROMER costs more than any of FunderPro's 50K futures subscriptions. The fee covers the hardware your algo runs on at the exchange, where a FunderPro trader supplies their own computer or VPS. ROMER covers futures and digital-asset derivatives and has no CFD program.

## Picking one

FunderPro suits a futures trader who wants a cheap monthly evaluation, or access to EUREX contracts, and a CFD trader who wants the fee credited back with the first reward. A bot you own that trades at ordinary speeds fits its rules on either program.

ROMER suits a strategy that has to be fast to work, where FunderPro's conflicting HFT wording leaves you exposed. The same goes for a trader who wants an algo's last stage to be real orders on a real exchange.

## Quick answers

**Does FunderPro allow HFT?**
Its pages disagree. The futures help centre says "Fast, high-frequency trading styles are permitted", and a CFD article says "HFT and automated bots are allowed". Both sets of terms say "Clients are prohibited from engaging in high-frequency trading". Ask FunderPro to confirm in writing before you buy.

**Can I use an EA or bot at FunderPro?**
Yes, on futures and CFD accounts, if you own it. The futures terms say "Clients using third-party EAs must own the source code of the software", and the CFD help centre bans renting or sharing EAs. Bots must not exploit system vulnerabilities or latency.

**Can I use a VPS with FunderPro?**
On FunderPro Futures, yes, unless you connect from a restricted country. On CFD accounts, FunderPro's Risk team has to approve and whitelist the VPS first, and trading through it before written approval "may still breach your account's terms."

**Is a FunderPro funded account real money?**
No. Funded accounts on both programs are simulated, and rewards are paid in real money. The futures terms say FunderPro may copy funded trades into the live market in its own name, but "the Client will never be provided with access to the live market".
