# Funded Trading Plus vs ROMER

> Funded Trading Plus suits forex and CFD traders who automate at ordinary speeds. It allows EAs, algos and bots, has no monthly fee and lets 1-Step Express traders withdraw from day one. It may ask to see your EA's code, bans "some" HFT and has no live stage. ROMER suits HFT and futures or digital-asset algos aiming for real capital.

## What Funded Trading Plus sells

Funded Trading Plus, which calls itself FT+, sells one-time programs on simulated CFD accounts in forex, metals, indices, energy and crypto, traded on MT5 or Match-Trader. Futures aren't part of it: "We do not offer Futures within our simulated platform" ([futures answer](https://help.fundedtradingplus.com/does-your-simulated-live-environment-include-futures-markets/)).

FT+'s main website refused our automated requests on 1 October 2026, so the prices below come from Internet Archive copies of its product pages, captured in July and September 2026. Its help centre loaded normally that day and is the source for the rules. Check the price at checkout before you buy.

On those pages a $50K [1-Step Express](https://web.archive.org/web/20260704071849/https://www.fundedtradingplus.com/prop-trading-challenges/one-step) listed at $349. It asks for 10% with a 4% daily limit and a 6% maximum loss that trails your highest closed balance until it reaches the starting balance, and there are no minimum trading days. The $50K [2-Step Classic](https://web.archive.org/web/20260704071849/https://www.fundedtradingplus.com/prop-trading-challenges/two-step) listed at $319 for 7% in each step inside an 8% static limit, with a 35% consistency rule in each step and a 3% loss limit on any one symbol. The Instant program skips the evaluation and costs far more, $2,199 at $50K. Pass Now Pay Later runs the other way: $4 to start the challenge and, at $50K, $299 to activate the funded account once you pass. "There are no monthly fees for any program purchased with FT+", the [fees answer](https://help.fundedtradingplus.com/are-there-any-monthly-fees/) says.

Payouts on 1-Step Express can start almost at once: "The minimum withdrawal amount is $50, and you can make this request from day 1. All subsequent withdrawal requests would be every 7 days thereafter." Every program starts at an 80% split. The [profit split article](https://help.fundedtradingplus.com/profit-split/) says an account moves to 90% when it reaches 20% profit in the funded phase, though Pass Now Pay Later stays at 80%.

## Automation with a code check

FT+ says yes to bots in plain words. Its [EA answer](https://help.fundedtradingplus.com/does-your-simulated-live-environment-support-the-use-of-eas-algos-or-bots/) reads: "Yes. You can use any strategy or style of simulated trading you would like. You can also use EAs, Algos or Bots."

The yes comes with a review. The [risk management article](https://help.fundedtradingplus.com/how-do-i-demonstrate-good-risk-management/) says "You must be prepared to submit your EA for approval in order to receive a simulated live account" and "We may also ask for the code snippet of your EA." The [terms](https://web.archive.org/web/20260927230332/https://www.fundedtradingplus.com/terms-conditions/) go further and give FT+ the right to access "any external third-party software that the user employs", "including source code", when it judges that necessary. API integrations fall under the same clause, and their use "remains the sole responsibility of the account holder". We found no API product from FT+, so your bot connects through MT5 or Match-Trader like any EA. If your code is your edge, decide before you buy whether you're willing to show it.

## Where FT+ draws the HFT line, and copying

FT+ bans some HFT and doesn't say which. Its [article on demo abuse](https://help.fundedtradingplus.com/what-is-abuse-of-demo-trading-conditions/) lists "arbitrage, latency arbitrage, some High-Frequency Trading Strategies" as abuse, and the terms prohibit "Tick-scalping or other abusive trading practices that take an unrealistic advantage of simulated trading conditions that would not be possible in real market trading." The [risk review policy](https://help.fundedtradingplus.com/risk-review-policy/) says "We welcome sensible scalping". No trade count or hold time marks the boundary, so a fast strategy gets judged case by case at review.

On copying, the pages disagree. The current [copy trading rules](https://help.fundedtradingplus.com/copy-trading-rules/) say "Copy trading is now permitted, provided it is between your own accounts only", and mention that many traders use software such as Traders Connect. The older EA answer still says "you are not permitted to use an EA to copy trade/hedge across one or more FT+ accounts". The word "now" suggests the rule changed and the EA page wasn't updated, but ask support in writing before an EA copies between your accounts. Copying another trader, or letting one copy you, is banned on both pages.

We found no VPS rule in the help centre or the terms.

## The funded stage is simulated

FT+'s funded stage is the "FT+ Trader simulated live account", and the terms leave no doubt about the simulated part: "The Programs are delivered using simulated-live accounts only. All simulated trades are fictitious in nature and at no point will you trade in real-world financial instruments". FT+ [describes itself](https://help.fundedtradingplus.com/what-is-funded-trading-plus/) as a research and development firm, saying "we are researching profitable trading strategies, which is why, on the FT+ simulated live accounts, we pay out in real world USD." No stage beyond that trades real capital.

## ROMER's approach

At ROMER, where the terms are planned and may change, HFT isn't a grey area. High-frequency strategies are allowed from the first evaluation trade through to the funded account, and so are slower bots and trading by hand. Two things are off limits: manipulative trading such as spoofing, and anything beyond the exchange's message limits. Your algo sits on our machines in the exchange's data centre, so there's nothing for you to host.

Both of our stages use simulated fills. The Evaluation asks you to make the target without breaking a loss limit across at least 3 trading days. Verification asks for the same over at least 10 fresh trading days, so one good run isn't enough. Algos that clear both and come out on top move on to our own money on the real exchange, and you take 80% of the real profit. No one is guaranteed funding. ROMER covers futures and digital-asset derivatives and doesn't offer forex.

A $25K account is planned at $149 a month, $50K at $249 and $100K at $399, without an activation fee, and the monthly charge pays for the hardware your algo trades on at the exchange. Each account has a 6% profit target, a 2% daily loss limit and a 4% maximum loss that trails, all planned.

## Who should choose which

FT+ is a reasonable home for a forex or CFD EA that trades at ordinary speed and that you're willing to show if asked. Withdrawals from day one on 1-Step Express help, and so does being allowed to copy between your own accounts.

If your edge depends on speed, the word "some" in FT+'s HFT rule is a risk you'd carry into every payout review. That's the strategy ROMER is for, as long as it trades futures or digital-asset derivatives.

## Quick answers

**Does Funded Trading Plus allow EAs and bots?**
Yes. Its help centre says "You can also use EAs, Algos or Bots." You must be ready to submit your EA for approval before you get a funded account, FT+ may ask for a code snippet, and its terms let it demand access to any third-party software you use, including logs and source code.

**Does Funded Trading Plus allow HFT?**
Only in part. Its help centre counts "some High-Frequency Trading Strategies" as abuse of demo trading conditions, alongside arbitrage and latency arbitrage, and its terms ban tick scalping. It doesn't say which HFT strategies are acceptable, and it states no minimum hold time.

**Can I copy trades between my own Funded Trading Plus accounts?**
The copy trading rules say "Copy trading is now permitted, provided it is between your own accounts only." An older article on EAs still says you may not use an EA to copy trade across FT+ accounts, so get written confirmation from support before you copy with an EA.

**Is the FT+ Trader account live?**
No. The terms say "The Programs are delivered using simulated-live accounts only." Withdrawals are paid in real US dollars from simulated profit, and no stage of the program trades real capital.
